A critical component of the church’s call is to proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. One of the ways the church carries this out is through the corporate observance of Communion or The Lord’s Table. During this solemn occasion, the church corporately remembers and proclaims the Lord’s death, and its members engage in careful, faith-induced scrutiny of their lives before the Lord, Savior, and Head of the church, Jesus Christ. Here at GBS we partake of this ordinance every fifth Sunday of the month and on other occasions as the elders see fit. In the spirit of the New Testament church, our time of Communion is followed by a Love Feast Potluck, wherein we tangibly commune with one another in the gospel around a meal.
